Luigi Rincicotti
Luigi Rincicotti’s painting is sumptuous and rich with symbols, memories, and presences that evoke metaphysical experiences—internalized in part through his knowledge of Giorgio De Chirico—and that bear the influence of Surrealism and Symbolist painting. For Rincicotti, art is above all a figurative expression, yet its content reveals an abstract conception of reality. His works are the result of visions and mental elaborations that reflect states of mind, emotions, fears, and feelings.
He tells the story of his life by revisiting the places of his childhood, bringing to the forefront the games of the child and the figures of the adults who gave meaning to his existence. Alongside these appear cats, owls, fish, and mysterious figures in search of an identity.
