Maurizio Vinanti

Maurizio Vinanti was born in Florence into a family of craftsmen and artists. From a very young age, he showed a natural inclination for painting, which led him to attend the State Art Institute of Florence, where he obtained his Master of Art diploma and Magisterium of Art. After his early youth marked by the experimentation of various styles, in the 1990s, he began his journey in the tradition of 19th-century painting, later diverging from it in 1996 to create his own unique world made of landscapes and fantastic characters, which later identified him as a surrealist painter. The art of this Florentine artist is characterized by vivid and contrasting colors, in which surreal landscapes and distant fantasies are represented. The dreamlike depiction of reality and the continuous figurative research that starts from real landscapes and delves into fantastic atmospheres make him a unique representative of contemporary surrealism.
His paintings are made on multi-material panels and are always accompanied by a poem written by poet Carla Adamo, which reveals the source of inspiration and describes the hidden features that the artist did not depict in his work. Words and colors merge in a deep and engaging artistic union and become one, thanks to the strong connection of two souls who, in addition to sharing a deep passion for art, have also been married for 40 years.
His art is a continuous figurative search, starting from typical Tuscan landscapes and moving into surreal atmospheres where colors are able to express emotions and compelling thoughts. The fantastic dimension depicted in his canvases is the colorful and chimeric curtain behind which lies the tangible and concrete testimony of passions, nightmares, dreams, and aspirations that we all share. The characters born from his brushstrokes are suspended in the air, between reality and illusion. His women are covered in thin veils, symbolizing the fine line between the real world and the world of dreams.
