Patrizia Balzerano
She was born in Naples in 1954 and, as a young woman, enthusiastically pursued studies in the humanities. After earning a diploma in fashion design and interior decoration, she developed a deep passion for figurative art. Her early years were marked by experimentation, during which she created artworks distinguished by the use of various materials such as glass, ceramics, wood, and textiles. Following her initial successes, she produced pictograms for the Biennale del Mare and for several public spaces in the city.
As a Neapolitan artist, she stands out as a prominent figure of the “Mediterranean style.” Her unique work is defined by a vibrant color palette, dynamic perspectives, and rich composition, achieved through her masterful use of mixed multimedia techniques.
Thanks to a series of highly successful and critically acclaimed exhibitions, Balzerano also established herself in the field of set design, creating stage sets and costumes for major opera productions. Her vibrant landscapes have been showcased at international art fairs, where they received significant recognition from both audiences and critics. Her works have been featured in prestigious art yearbooks and catalogs and are part of numerous private collections in Italy, Germany, Austria, and the United States.
