La città invisibile

“La città invisibile” è il risultato di una riflessione profonda sulla natura delle città che abitiamo, non solo fisicamente, ma mentalmente e emotivamente. Per me, una città non è solo un agglomerato di strade, edifici e piazze. È una costruzione mentale, un luogo che si plasma e si trasforma nell’immaginazione dei suoi abitanti. Le città invisibili sono quelle che non vediamo, non perché non esistano, ma perché sono nascoste dietro la complessità della vita quotidiana, delle nostre ambizioni e dei nostri sogni.

 Attraverso l’espressionismo astratto geometrico, ho cercato di rappresentare questa invisibilità: forme e linee che si intrecciano e sfuggono a una definizione precisa, simboleggiando i livelli di significato che una città assume a seconda di chi la vive. Ogni linea geometrica rappresenta un frammento di una realtà percepita, un sogno collettivo o individuale che costruisce e de-costruisce continuamente lo spazio urbano. Questa città vive nelle nostre aspettative, nei viaggi utopici che compiamo ogni giorno, ma esiste solo nella mente di chi la sogna, una città che non si vede, ma si sente.”

“The Invisible City is the result of a deep reflection on the nature of the cities we inhabit, not only physically but also mentally and emotionally. For me, a city is not just a collection of streets, buildings, and squares. It is a mental construction, a place that takes shape and transforms in the imagination of its inhabitants. The invisible cities are those we do not see, not because they do not exist, but because they are hidden behind the complexity of daily life, our ambitions, and our dreams.

Through abstract geometric expressionism, I sought to represent this invisibility: forms and lines that intertwine and escape precise definition, symbolizing the layers of meaning a city assumes depending on who experiences it. Each geometric line represents a fragment of a perceived reality, a collective or individual dream that continuously constructs and deconstructs the urban space. This city lives in our expectations, in the utopian journeys we undertake every day, but it exists only in the minds of those who dream it—a city that is not seen, but felt.”
